Museum with Mimi

Mimi came for a visit and we took her to the Children's Museum. The kids got "jobs" at the vet clinic, the grocery store, the bank, and even as EMTs.

This little artist patiently did all of these things, but was dying to go to the face paint station.

My favorite spot at the museum is watching them paint their own faces.

Lucy quickly got into character.

Anna and Thomas experimented with horizontal versus vertical lines.

I like to call Rose's Beautiful Symmetry.

~Mimi and the brood~

We made our way outside to the Waterworks area. The girls were excited to show Mimi the baby chicks that are always in the little hut outside. We found an incubator full of cute, fluffy, baby chicks.

And then we found this:

Really? A dead baby chicken? The worst part was, the kids were flocked around the incubator asking the volunteer about the dead baby chick, which he refused to admit was dead. Dude. They may be 3-years-old, but they aren't dumb.

Take. It. Out.

Despite this little guy, though, it was a fun day out with Mimi.

Thomas looks like such a big boy! Makes me a little teary!

I second what Lauren said. That struck me, too, especially in the stripes picture.

I seriously laughed really hard at the dead baby chick. I don't know why, my mind is obviously a little twisted. But C'MON! That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
