How-to Guide to a Great Vacation

1. Be prepared.
2. Be positive. Rest along the way. Remember the old saying "Getting there is half the fun?"

3. Visit cute people...

4. ...who live in a cute house with a cute yard on a cute river.
5. Take in the sunset and the beautiful view at a cottage in Michigan.
6. The lake is always more fun with the "King of All Things Water Sports."

7. Take daily pontoon boat rides in crystal clear water.

8. Hiking up humongous sand dunes is always relaxing.

9. Eat s'mores by the firepit on the beach at sunset. Seriously. (We had some good technique working that night.)

10. 2 babysitters for 6 kids ensures an awesome night out sans children/diaper bags/sippy cups/ whining/screaming.

11. A day trip to St. Louis and the Arch is not a bad way to wind up a vacation.

Thank you Heidi, Mark, Ava, and Kaiya for being such awesome, gracious hosts! We couldn't have asked for a better vacation.
