Iambic Pentameter

So, Shakespeare wrote "Beware the Ides of March,"
In Julius Caesar--well known tragedy.
A tale of power and betrayal, oh--
Then why is Lucy happy and smiling?
What's this? She's found an awesome substitute--
A grand love story with tormented souls.
How dare her mom compare this to the Bard's
most timeless classics given to the world?

Well, now I will beware the snide remarks
of those who cannot keep their trappers shut.
It's true. I let my baby read Twilight.
The DVD comes out next Saturday.

Happy Ides of March, my friends.

Well, I think Lucy is pretty smart to put down Shakespeare for Stephanie Meyer's Twilight. She knows a good book when she sees it.

I saw all the ads in the paper today announcing the arrival of the Twilight DVD :)
