Soccer camp. Tennis Camp. Frozen dance camp. Pirate dance camp.
Her siblings went to some day camps this summer. But none of them really interested her. Except for one. She found it last year online, but I told her no because it was in town, and over an hour drive in traffic--one way.
The Houston SPCA Critter Camp.
This year I said yes. And it was one of my favorite yeses ever.
Anna attended the Voice for the Voiceless Critter Camp at the Houston SPCA. She found true joy this week at camp. She had a week surrounded with adults and kids that share her passion for animals...a week with opportunities to play with homeless pets and make them toys from scratch...a week listening to animal rescue testimonies and brainstorming with fellow animal lovers.
She filled the car with stories of camp each day--talking a mile a minute. She didn't care that we were enjoying our own staycation in the city while she was at camp. She was where she wanted to be. We found the perfect camp for her, and she can't wait until next year.
