For posterity...

Lucy was recognized for running club, being the fastest Kindergarten girl on the record wall, all E's, and Perfect Attendance all year!  9:05 mile time!  (The record wall goes back to 2012 when Metzler got the new running track.)  Side note:  She was the second fastest Kindergartner this year at the mile, including all boys and girls.
Rose was recognized for running club (she ran the most laps at running club of ANY Husky--189 laps=38 miles!), running a 7:50 mile, earning her a spot on the 2nd grade record wall, the music award, all A's, all E's, and Perfect Attendance all year!
Anna got recognized for running club, the music award, the art award, All A's, all E's, and Perfect Attendance all year!
Thomas was recognized for making the A Honor Roll.  He also auditioned for and made Chamber Orchestra next year!
What a blessing to witness these kids achieve success.  I'm a proud mama.

Oh, and in case you might worry that any of my kids' success would go to my head...a story.
Isaac and I were at the Hildebrandt gym watching the 6th grade awards.  The entire riser section in the gym was full of proud parents and their cameras, waiting for their child's name to be called.

We made it through the D names when Isaac started fidgeting, and I realized that the granola bar I brought for him was in the car.  Oops.  It was also then that I realized my seat was not close to the exit.  Worry was setting in.  I gave him my phone during the G's to keep him occupied.

They started calling L names and he started talking.  I got him to stop in time to watch Thomas get called and shake hands with the principal and teachers.  I guess that Isaac thought once Thomas was done, we were done.  I mean, after all, we saw what we came there to see.  Halfway through the N's he started inching towards the stairs.  I didn't want to grab him for fear that he'd scream and cause a scene.  It was quiet.  Everyone was holding their applause.

Then, faster that I could even imagine, he started running down the riser stairs.  I went after him, leaving my purse and camera behind, thinking (naively) that I'd just grab his arm, and we'd patiently and perfectly watch the rest of the alphabet play through.  ?!?!

Nope.  He made it to the bottom of the risers and took off running.  Faster than ever before.  So I had to run.  In front of all the cameras and parents.  The last thing I remember hearing before I scooped him and up and we made our way to the exit was, "And there's a future Hildbrandt track star."  All I could think was, if he makes it that far.

Thomas was very forgiving.  He told me that afternoon that everyone thought it was funny.  I doubt everyone.  I'm sure there's at least one P parent who couldn't wait to get a video of his child earning an award, and got me running across the gym instead.  Oy vey.
