To a kid, there is nothing more exciting than checking into a hotel room. Honestly, I think we could probably find a hotel in Spring, TX for our next vacation, and the kids would be fine with that. I mean, the joy they get from pushing the elevator buttons astounds me. And then there's the running the halls and the balcony and the bed and the, oh my gosh, the pullout couch bed. It's too much.
So, after our drive to Lake Texoma and our first lunch at Tanglewood which included a wasp-in-my-hair fiasco, it was time to see the room. The room which promised a view of the lake. It did. It was gorgeous. But all the kids wanted to do was run. And wrestle and make a real pile on the bed.
It was all fun and games until I heard someone vigorously banging on their ceiling below us. "Are they banging for us to be quiet? Holy cow." Then, five minutes later, the phone rang. I didn't even know hotel rooms had phones anymore. Who uses those? "Jeremy, you're answering that because I guarantee that's the people below us."
It was. The man on the phone asked Jeremy if we had a track team running laps up there. No worse. We have five excited, happy, boisterous children who don't know how to walk softly to save their lives. How long are you here for?
We took the excitement out to the pool. It was apparently naptime for the people downstairs.
If you knew the Parr girls as children, you would know that we would have been making our parents watch a choreographed pool show like my kids did us.
There was an arcade. How much longer until he requires the quarters to have fun?
Last day of being a 1-year-old. 8/7/13
Ice cream on the patio. If you feed them, they sit still and don't bother the neighbors.
