Boys: Extremely loud. Abounding Energy. Running (and only running) through the house. Nerf sword fights at 4:00 AM. Sweaty and smelly. Nerf bullets all over the house. Unending wrestling. Sleep in their sweaty clothes. Go to bed just before the sun rises.
Girls: Giggly. Moody. Pouty. Appreciative of a mom's planning. Change into cute matching pajamas before settling in for a late movie. Go to bed at 1:00.
Anna had her first slumber party. I decided I don't particularly love slumber parties, but it's not about me, ya know. If I had to hear, "I'm calling my dad. You're being mean!" one more time, I was gonna explode. We took the kids to see Disney's Chimpanzee (excellent, BTW), and one of the girls asked me why I wasn't taking them to see Hunger Games. While I wanted to say, "Because you're EIGHT and that would be highly inappropriate," I answered, "Anna chose this movie."
All in all, the girls had a blast. And while it's true I had to put out a few fires, nobody wanted to leave the next morning.
Here's my slumber party cake from the Disney Family Fun web site, complete with a redhead for Anna's friend, Katelyn.
I know what she's thinking. "You put a tea light on my cake? Really?"
They decorated pillow cases.
I bought slumber party Mad Libs which turned into a giggle fest. For some reason, it just never gets old when you are reading a story about smelly ankles or wrinkly boogers.

Oh man, maybe we won't have slumber parties at our house... ;) Glad she had fun though!
