I wish I could just step--for one minute--into the mind of a 3-year-old. Anna can play for hours with her dogs. And folks, I'm not talking about Mack and Happy--I'm talking about the collection of stuffed dogs that seems to be getting bigger by the week. If I'd known years ago what I know now, we could have saved thousands of dollars on dog food, vet visits, heartworm meds, (the list could go forever) etc. and just bought stock in Build-a-Bear Workshop. My kids have never once made a bear there--just dogs. We have a husky, boxer, yellow lab, and pink poodle.
Anna's dogs play ball in the backyard, go for rides in the car, swing and slide on the playground; occasionally they will sit in her cubby at school if she finds Mama in a moment of weakness. Right now Anna and a few of her friends--Chance, Butterball,(pretend)Mack--named after real Mack, Rosebud, and Firefighter (he's a dalmation)--are playing the Cranium game Hullaballoo.
