November in the Metroplex

I love having an entire week off for Thanksgiving.  It's a perfect start to the Holiday season. We decided to visit the grandparents and cousins with the extra time off of school.

First stop...Nana and Podge's house just in time to celebrate Brady's 9th birthday.  And we finally got to see him play soccer!  He was playing in a Thanksgiving tournament, and we've wanted to see him play for ages.  But with our kids in weekend sports, it's hard to make it happen, and so far I haven't figured out how to be two places as once.  ;)

We went to Mamaw and Papa's house for a little visit.  Thomas gave a pre-Christmas concert on his violin.  Then Papa got his ukulele out that his Hawaiin friend made. After three minutes, Thomas had figured out some chords.  Google is amazing.
Next stop:  Mimi and Papa's in Burleson.  The kids requested Mimi's famous pancakes our first morning there.

Dessert-Dessert:  The term used for a generous squirt of whipped cream directly into your mouth after eating Mimi's pancakes.

Isaac practicing his cutting skills by making a snowflake.
We helped decorate Mimi and Papa's tree!

Mimi and Papa took us to the Katherine Rose park in Mansfield.  We loved it!  There were hiking trails, ponds, fields, and playgrounds.  And it was a perfect day for the park.
