1. Today is my sister's birthday. She's 31 on the 31st and she's 31 weeks pregnant. Now, if that's not cool, I don't know what is.
2. I just got back from the grocery store with--among other things--hemorroid pads, stool softener, and maxi pads. Oh, the glamorous side of birthing babies. And, you'll be relieved to know (I know I was) that my stool softener is gluten free.
3. Football is going about as expected. Thomas and the rest of the boys on his team work out harder than they ever have in their entire lives in the 100 degree weather while at least five slightly sadistic men stand around watching and screaming. The ratio between yelling and instruction is a bit heavy on the yelling side. But I guess that's football for you. This week they start wearing pads and helmets to practice. But I've got to say, Thomas (or Timmy...or Leer-don...or whatever they decide to call him) is all heart. That boy gives one hundred percent all the time. I'm so proud of him.
4. School starts 3 weeks from tomorrow. Can it be happening already? This has been such a good summer. It has been low-key. We haven't gone anywhere. But we've enjoyed each other, and I don't want it to end.
5. Rose and Lucy were at Nana and Podge's house, so we took Thomas and Anna bowling on Friday night. I am proof positive that bowling at 38 weeks pregnant is fine. I actually bowled two of my best games ever. People, we're talking over a hundred! Who knows? Maybe the 8-pound baby and the 8-pound ball balance each other out.

38 weeks...eek! You're getting close! I was just talking to Nate the other day about all the stuff I'd forgotten about. The mesh undies, waking up in a puddle of milk the first night the baby sleeps through a feeding, having to burp a baby...so weird. I cannot wait for your little man to make his appearance!
